Description
New York City as dusk falls on an overcast day in Manhattan. Chief on the skyline is the famous Chrysler Building, a true NYC landmark! Don't you love the classic Art Deco spire that sets it apart from all of its neighbors in the cityscape?
It's amazing how much the weather influences the mood of an image. I took photos at a similar time of the day from the Top of the Rock and the sky was completely different, open, full of colors, but on the day I visited the Empire State Building, as you can see, the skies were a bit more overcast but dramatic in their own way. The resulting tones of the city are 180 degrees in their difference, but each style sings in its own way and is at the heart of the serendipity of photography. You can only control so much in the real word and it's a test of the photographer to make the best use of what nature hands them.
